The Government of Canada protects the rights of consumers through the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants which is a national regulatory body that governs the services of immigration consultants providing assistance for people wishing to come to Canada. Under federal law, all immigration consultants either in Canada or abroad who offer their services for a fee to those wishing to come to Canada must be registered with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants and must also be accredited as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
